|  | | | Consultation | | Combining experience and research | | | Based on the vast experience of our directors and the latest research fi ndings, the Erich Pommer Institut provides professional consultation to companies, institutions of higher education, professional associations and other organisations. The institute also participates in current political discussions regarding issues of media policy and media law. | | Prof. Klaus Keil established with the Academy of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" (HFF), other institutes of higher education in Berlin and Brandenburg and the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg XEN.ON°, a TV station for the public and universities. XEN.ON° aims to promote and enhance training in TV production. As member of the “Struktur- und Entwicklungskommission” (Structure and Development Commission) at the HFF, Klaus Keil is also involved in establishing a structural model to adapt the diploma to Bachelor and Master. Furthermore, the curricula of education in the field of television are being arranged in cooperation with Prof. Keil.
Prof. Dr Oliver Castendyk, earlier director, has, for example, acted as a consultant to the Ministry of Justice on the final ministerial draft of German copyright law. In line with the amendment to legislation governing film funding in Germany, he developed, on behalf of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, a proposal for the use of guarantee bonds for small and medium-sized film production companies. At last he was member of the working committee of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media that developed the new financing model for the film business. In his capacity as a lawyer, he also advises production companies and TV stations as well as professional associations and institutions. | | | |
